Your first step towards a better birth…

What birth doula support in Wichita, KS looks like:

Overwhelmed with information? Tired of conflicting advice from friends and family? As a first time parent it can be confusing! You want to feel like you’re making the best decision for you and your baby, but it can be hard knowing where to start. That’s where your local birth doula comes in! 🤍

Not your average birth doula…

I’m not your regular doula, I don’t “just sit with you” during birth…NO!

As a professionally trained birth doula in Wichita, KS, I am skilled in being able to suggest strategic positions (or movements) for you that help to rotate baby into the best position for labor! When baby is positioned optimally, labor progresses more smoothly. “Back contractions” ease up or go away, and your cervix dilates quicker or more completely (helping you achieve your goal of vaginal birth!)

I am also active in suggesting or providing comfort measures that can help to relieve some pain of contractions. I will work with your birth partner(s) to offer hands-on comfort like massage, counter pressure, or holding your hand. Many birth partners say that they feel MORE included in their significant other’s labor by having a doula there!

Sold! Want to hire a birth doula, but unsure about the investment?

How would you feel having me on your birth team? I hope your answer is somewhere along the lines of… “really great!” Hah, but seriously! Think about it….what would that feel like to you? Comfort? Empowerment? Peace? The day you give birth is just as important as your wedding day–this experience will stay with you for the rest of your life. It makes sense that we should want to invest in it!

Ways to easily afford birth doula support: ⬇️

  1. Have a Health Savings or Flex Spending account?? I can accept HSA/FSA payments!
  2. Have a baby shower coming up? Add a cash fund to your baby registry, or shop my services at Be Her Village!
  3. Have insurance? You may be able to submit an itemized bill for reimbursement! (call your insurance to confirm this is something they cover – especially for Aetna and Tricare members!)
    • I am able to take a limited number of clients with Medicaid each month.
  4. Need to make smaller payments? Use a payment plan! Only $200 is required to reserve your due date. The remainder is due in full by 36 weeks, and can be made in payment amounts of your choice.
  5. Finally, It’s important to me that my services are accessible and affordable to all. If you can’t afford to pay the listed price, please let me know what you could reasonably afford to pay for birth doula support and I will see if there are enough funds in the “Choose What You Pay” Scholarship Program to cover the difference! 10% of every purchase goes towards a scholarship fund to help make these services accessible to more mothers in our community, because every woman deserves this kind of support! 🤍
    • Note: Funds from the scholarship program can only be put towards the “Basic” birth support package

Ingrid’s Experience:

“Jessica was such an amazing doula! As a first time mom I was extremely nervous for labor… Jessica was always so kind and helpful. She visited me multiple times before I delivered my baby, helping me create my ideal birth plan and offering numerous amounts of knowledge regarding labor. She provided me with information of how to prepare my body for labor, which helped a lot as during the third trimester you do not have the energy to research everything yourself! She always responded to my messages in a timely manner and found the answer to many of the questions I had. During my labor she was absolutely wonderful. She knew exactly what to do and made sure my birth plan was carried how I wanted it to. She also helped me by guiding my husband and showing him how he could support me throughout my labor. I am definitely going to be reaching out to her with all my future pregnancies!!”
